ProChess INDIA is proud to celebrate another outstanding achievement by our students in competitive chess.
Many congratulations to Daanish Arora, a student from Glendal Primary School, for his exceptional performance at the Northern Star Chess Tournament, held on 26 August 2026 at Brandon Park Primary School in Melbourne, Australia.
Daanish Arora Wins 1st Place with 6/7
Daanish delivered an outstanding performance at the Northern Star Chess Tournament, securing 1st place with an impressive score of 6/7.
Adding to his achievement, Daanish was also awarded the prestigious Star of the Tournament Trophy, recognising his excellent performance throughout the competition.
Winning a chess tournament against strong competition requires more than just technical knowledge. Consistency, calculation, concentration, decision-making, and the ability to perform under tournament pressure all play an important role. Daanish’s result is a fantastic reflection of his hard work and dedication to chess.
Karan Gajula Wins Silver Medal
Another notable achievement for ProChess INDIA came from Karan Gajula, who scored an excellent 5.5/7 at the tournament.
Karan also won the Silver Medal in the Grade 5–6 category, marking another strong competitive performance by a ProChess INDIA student.
His result demonstrates the growing participation and success of our students in school and competitive chess events.
Glendal Primary School Crowned Zonal School Champion
The success extended beyond individual performances.
Glendal Primary School was crowned the Zonal School Champion, finishing with an outstanding 21 points.
This achievement highlights the collective strength of the school’s chess players and makes the tournament a particularly memorable event for the Glendal Primary School community.
Developing Young Chess Players Through Tournament Experience
At ProChess INDIA, we believe that regular tournament participation is an important part of a young chess player’s development.
Competitive chess gives students the opportunity to apply their training in real-game situations while developing important skills such as:
- Tactical calculation and pattern recognition
- Strategic decision-making
- Opening knowledge
- Concentration and focus
- Time management
- Handling pressure during competitive games
- Learning from wins, losses, and mistakes
Achievements such as Daanish’s tournament victory and Karan’s silver medal are not only results to celebrate but also important milestones in their continuing chess journeys.
