This prestigious national championship, organized by the Box Hill Chess Club, brings together the best qualifying school teams from across Australia. Competing at this level is an honor in itself—and our students delivered a truly unforgettable performance.
Glendal Primary School Crowned Australian Champions 2025
With dominant team play across all boards, Glendal Primary School (VIC) emerged as:

One of the standout performers of the entire championship was Sannah Bhatia, who delivered a perfect 5/5 score on Board 3—a flawless performance at the national level.

Swaraa Shah, the second ProChess INDIA student in the Glendal team, played a vital role in helping the team secure the national title.

About the Australian School Teams Championship (ASTC)
The Australian School Teams Championship (ASTC) is one of the most respected school chess tournaments in the country. It features four divisions:
- Australian Secondary Schools Open Team Championship
- Australian Secondary Schools Girls’ Team Championship
- Australian Primary Schools Open Team Championship
- Australian Primary Schools Girls’ Team Championship
Only state-qualified schools are invited to participate, making this tournament a true test of elite school-level chess.
