Shitiz Prasad, the golden boy from Pune started learning Chess at the age of 6 and within 1 year of his learning journey, he has received multiple awards in various tournaments across the country. At this young age of 7, he is an International FIDE rated Chess player and currently holds official National and World ranking. He has been awarded with several trophies and medals in District and All India open Chess tournaments.
Few of his achievements are as below: 1. Pune District Selection Chess Tournament: The yearly District selection tournament was organised by Pune District Chess Association on 21st-22nd of Jan 2023 for different age groups. Shitiz was awarded with the Runner-Up prize in the under-09 boy’s category, out of 78 participants in this category. He has received a cash prize and a Trophy and being in the Top2 players, he will be given free entry in Maharashtra State Tournament.Additionally, he is selected to participate in MH state U-15, Open and Seniors state Tournament.
ALL INDIA BELOW 1600 RATED CHESS TOURNAMENT in MUMBAI:All India below 1600 rated tournament was organised from23rd-25thDec2022. More than 500 players participated in this tournament fromall overthe country. Shitiz got Second prize in this tournament in U-09 category, out of 65 participants of this category. He received Cash prize and a Trophy in this tournament.
ALL INDIA BELOW 1600 RATED CHESS TOURNAMENT in HYDERABAD:Awarded with Trophy and Cash Prize for getting TOP 5 position in Unrated Category out of 330 Unrated participants. In this tournament, he won 6 games out of 9 games in Open Category consisting of 540 players. He defeated 3 International rated players and completed his Standard FIDE Rating Norms to become Standard Rated player.
GCH MAHARASHTRA STATE JUNIORS CHESS TOURNAMENT in MUMBAI: This was age group wise tournament where Shitiz participated in Under-08 and Under-15 Categories separately. He was awarded with Trophy and cash prizes in both category for achieving Top 10 position in both Categories.
INTERNATIONAL BELOW 1600 FIDE RATED CHESS TOURNAMENT in BHIMAVARAM: It was International rated tournament where more than 600 players participated. Shitiz won 4 games out of 8 games and achieved 3rd position in Under-09 boys category.
In the month of June’24, Shitiz Prasad gained 27.2 points and crossed 1600 mark in his FIDE Rapid ratings. In July’24, Shitiz Prasad gained 80.8 points in his FIDE ratings with FIDE rating of 1730. In October’24 Shitiz Prasad scored 8.5/11 in Under 11 National Chess Championship.
