ProChess INDIA is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two of our young students, Nishitha Gajula and Kayra Thusithana, at the 2026 Victorian Junior Chess Championship (Under-8 Girls) in Melbourne, Australia.
Both players delivered excellent performances in a competitive field, demonstrating strong chess skills, determination, and fighting spirit throughout the championship.
Nishitha Gajula Crowned Under-8 Girls Champion
A special congratulations to Nishitha Gajula, who delivered a phenomenal performance to become the 2026 Victorian Junior Chess Champion in the Under-8 Girls category.
Nishitha finished 1st place with an impressive score of 6/7, demonstrating remarkable consistency and competitive strength throughout the tournament.
Winning a state-level junior chess championship is a fantastic achievement, particularly at such a young age. Her result reflects her dedication to learning, regular practice, and confidence in competitive chess.
Kayra Thusithana Finishes 4th
We also congratulate Kayra Thusithana on an excellent tournament performance.
Kayra secured an impressive 4th place in the Under-8 Girls category, competing strongly against a talented field of young chess players.
Her result is another encouraging milestone in her chess journey and highlights the growing competitive experience of ProChess INDIA students.
